West Kingston, Rhode Island – November 16th, 2015 – Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management and automation, today announced it has been named a CES 2016 Innovation Awards Honoree in the category of “Portable Power” for its Back-UPS Connect BGE50ML uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers and engineers as well as members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 27 product categories.
The Back-UPS Connect BGE50ML is a first-of-its-kind combination UPS and mobile power pack engineered to protect and power home networking equipment including routers, modems, and VoIP phones. It also supplies power to mobile phones and tablets for users while on-the-go. The system offers rotating outlets and three USB charging ports and can provide two and a half hours of flexible, safe charging and protection for mobile devices and networks, particularly during critical power situations such as storms and outages. The fast-charging mobile power pack has an internal lithium-ion battery capable of five or more charges to a smartphone and a full charge to a tablet.
